It was the first TV-Game console with a programmable processor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">In the end we had like 10 different cartridges for it with 1- 4 games on each. \u00a0The games were in color and most views looking like very rough boxes or pixels but despite that it was major fun to play. Especially since it was possibly to play 2 players against each other.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/globetrotterlife.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/game12b.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-789\" alt=\"game12b\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/globetrotterlife.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/game12b.jpg?resize=304%2C230\" width=\"304\" height=\"230\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The above one being baseball with one guy throwing balls slow, fast and curve balls and the other one trying to hit them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The controller was an interesting invention with many functions built in to the controller<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/globetrotterlife.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Grandstand_VEC_CL-09_small1.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-790\" alt=\"Grandstand_VEC_CL-09_small1\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/globetrotterlife.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/Grandstand_VEC_CL-09_small1.jpg?resize=300%2C215\" width=\"300\" height=\"215\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You can move the whole top in circles while at the same time twist the top triangle left and right and pull it up and down. That compared to the Atari joystick which had left,right, up, down and one button. \u00a0The main issue with the controller was ofcourse the cable sticking out at the bottom easily getting damaged when the game was on.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">I loved playing this TV game but was a bit disappointed of course when the Atari came out with its \u00a0Missile command style which was just the type games i liked.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/globetrotterlife.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/2600_Games-Missle_Command.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-791\" alt=\"2600_Games-Missle_Command\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/globetrotterlife.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/2600_Games-Missle_Command.jpg?resize=300%2C225\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">But then the neighbour bought one of \u00a0those consoles so we kept running back and forth playing games on both.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">To find out now 37 or so years later that 2 of the guys who invented the Luxor game console or the \u00a0Fairchild Channel-F as it was originally called, was among those who started the Intel company ofcourse makes it even more interesting to know the history of the game console.
